Microsoft Encourage People to Hold Windows 7 Launch Parties

Post by Neil | September 29, 2009 | News | 2 Comments

Microsoft have released a viral video campaign aimed at getting people to hold house parties based around the launch of the Windows 7 operating system, due out on October 22nd 2009. It features 4 “friends” chilling in the kitchen whilst talking about all the “great” things they are going to do at the party like show their friends how to run a computer operating system. Now my friends would probably call me a techy as I work in the online field and have all the latest gadgets but this is a party even I wouldn’t want to attend!

The launch of Windows 7 follows hot on the heals of Apple releasing their Snow Leopard operating system at the tail end of August but the Microsoft viral video kind of defies belief and you have to think that maybe they are looking to get some internet buzz based on the adage that no publicity is bad publicity! Lots of fake laughter and cringe worthy dialogue are going to make this one of the most talked about techy clips of the year, and I guess that’s the point?

Anyway check it out for yourself and let us know what you think?

    That is actually mental.

Watch it again and the guy in the green shirt only stops eating when he’s talking!

‘Can you believe that Microsoft put the launch of Windows 7 in our hands?’

    No, no I can’t.
