Dell Smartphone on the Horizon?

Post by Alister | August 19, 2009 | News | Comment

After the huge successes of the iPhone and Blackberry, it appears that Dell are also planning on making the move into the lucrative smartphone market. The ‘Mini 3i’ is said to feature a 3.5inch touchscreen with a 360 x 640 pixel quality, a qwerty keyboard and a 3MP camera.

Dell has recently tasted touchscreen success with the Studio One 19 desktop technology, so moving into the smartphone market is no real surprise. Reports suggest that a prototype of the phone was spotted at a Chinese mobile phone convention. It is also reported that the Mini 3i will be running on the Android based Open Mobile System (OMS), so the phone may launch in China first before its assault on the world market.
