According to new reports, the new Mini 5 tablet device soon to be launched by Dell will run on an unreleased version of the Android operating system.
In a recent report by website Engadget, the device is said to utilize the increasingly popular Google Android OS and will have Flash support, which will probably win the tablet device many fans.
Regardless of whatever version of Android the Mini 5 does end up shipping with, it is widely expected that the device will be fully upgradable, and allow users to update their device to the latest version easily.
Dell revealed its tablet intentions at last year’s Consumer Electronics Show, and the Mini 5 is expected to launch in America within a few months, with Dell Australia likely to launch the product sometime afterwards.
Price point has yet to be determined, however rumours suggest that the Wi-Fi and 3G capable device will cost more than US$1000.
