Despite having launched its tablet device in January at the Consumer Electronics Show, computer manufacturing giant Dell did not offer much detail on its upcoming touch screen Mini 5.

Regardless of the lack of official information, new details are beginning to slowly emerge on the device’s colour options and the kind of content that will be included.

According to an internal document leaked by the company and posted on website engadget, the Mini 5’s consumer name will be “Streak”. The document suggests that Streak will have a ton of tie-in’s with internet retailer Amazon, which include a Kindle app, access to its Video on Demand streaming service and MP3 store.

The document suggests that the device will be very customizable with a wide variety of colours and patterns, which has been part of Dell’s personalization push in recent years.

If the document is accurate the screen has capacitive touch, and will have an 800×480 resolution, a front facing VGA camera, and a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with flash, and a 30 pin dock connector.

When it launched the product Dell said the device would have a 5-inch screen, be 3G enabled and be powered by Google’s Android operating system.

It is not yet known when Dell Australia will launch the product, but it is widely expected it will be hot on the heels of Apple’s touch screen offering the iPad, will be available from April 3rd.
