Computer manufacturer Dell Australia has confirmed the existence of an 11.6 inch gaming Netbook, which it says will cost less than US$1000.

Dell recently showed off the new model dubbed Dell Alienware M11X, after months of speculation, which in reality stretches the term netbook.

The netbook apparently has the ability to run Crysyis at 50 frames per second, because it allegedly contains a Nvidia GT335M switchable graphics chip.

Rumours suggest that the machine in gaming mode has a two hour battery life, and when run at lower levels of performance could last over six hours.

Details are still a little scant on the model, but more details are expected to emerge about the new model in the next few weeks.

Dell also showed off other models in the Alienware range including the M17x and Alienware M15X, both of which are available in Australia and are said to be the most powerful 15 inch and 17 inch laptops ever created.

M17x start at $2699 and the M15x start at £2399
