Apple To Provide Brand New iPad If Battery Dies

iPad owners who need the battery of the tablet device replaced will be given brand new devices Apple says.

Apple is legendary for making the batteries of it products such as the iPhone inaccessible due to the flush plastic casing. This means that Apple customers are unable to change the battery of the product themselves and must send it back to company and pay it a fee to have the battery changed.

Apple has departed from its usual replacement policy, and with the much anticipated iPad is offering customers a brand new product, rather than offering a replacement battery.

“If your iPad requires service due to the battery’s diminished ability to hold an electrical charge, Apple will replace your iPad for a service fee. The service costs US$99 plus $6.95 shipping. The total cost is US$105.95 per unit.” said a posting on the support section of Apple’s website.

Though is may seem incredibly generous to get a brand new product, the company warns that no personal data will be transferred to the replacement tablet, and asks customers to back up all personal data and settings, before sending their old product back for replacing.
