Adamo XPS Back On Sale Again

Computer manufacturer Dell has retracted a previous statement which said it was discontinuing sales of the Dell Adamo XPS, and has begun restocking the product. Last week Dell Australia online store ceased stocking the ultra-slim notebook, with only a limited number available through a handful of major retailers.

When queried as to the reason for the move, Dell issued a statement saying the Adamo XPS was only ever meant to be a special edition “engineering marvel”, designed to showcase the company’s design prowess.

A week after that statement, Dell has backtracked, with the system on sale again. Dell clarified its initial statement and says it never intended to discontinue the Adamo XPS, that its sales continue to remain strong, both online and in stores, and that it deliberately restricted its sale to control demand and prevent excessive shipping times.

Dell says that misinformed sales reps were the reason why it was suggested that the product was at the end of its life cycle.
