Lenovo’s LePhone Simply Irresistible

The new smart-phone by Lenovo, dubbed the LePhone is expected to be launched by the computer manufacturer globally during the second half of this year, however its very cool design is already raising eyebrows.

Amidst an increasing cacophony of Android based smart-phones that are being launched in the market, the look of the LePhone is reminiscent of the decade old 3G concept design.

3G connectivity is par for the course these days; however the LePhone’s design has also taken some of its cues from more recent design trends such as ultra slim curved exteriors, large and bright touch screens and attachable keyboards.

The total design package is what makes Lenovo’s smart-phone compelling and stand apart from offerings from rival manufacturers, and Chinese consumers look like they will be the first to be able to get their hands on the LePhone, with launches in other global markets including Australia likely to follow sometime later in the year.

The LePhone is designed with the all important 3G capability but also includes an attachable QWERTY keyboard and a VGA web-cam. The phone comes with a 3.7-inch AMOLED touch-screen with great resolution, a 3 megapixel camera and a state of the art processor. Critically the phone also allows Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and is powered by Android 2.1.

The LePhone will be available in China mid-year and is expected to be launched globally in the second half of the year, with price points yet to be announced.
