Apple Mac Version Of Google Chrome Released
The search engine Google has confirmed the release of its popular internet browser, Chrome, for Mac users. The beta version is lacking in some of the regular features that its Windows counterpart has, but does feature the ability to import bookmarks from Firefox and Safari.
The overall stability is a lot stronger than earlier versions, though do be prepared for the possibility of a few teething problems at first. One of Google Chrome’s best features is the speed, which is twice as fast as Firefox. Chrome can also handle all updates in the background so you never have to wait for the browser to install or interrupt what you are already doing.
Another great feature is the ability to quickly search for websites using any search engine you like without adjusting your preferences. Plus with fast start up, faster loading and even faster search facilities, it’s easy to see why many people have been waiting for the Apple Mac version of Google Chrome with baited breath.

Apple Tablet Computer in Planning Stage?
It appears that the top secret, Apple tablet style computer, is in it’s first phase of planning. A patent has been put into place recently by Apple for new handwriting recognition technology, sending the media into a frenzy of interest into the possibilities that lay ahead.
All new Apple products come with a ticker tape reception, not to mention a robust rumour mill, and the interest in this is sky high. After the worldwide success of first the iPod, then the iPhone, Apple will have to pull out all the stops to try and top those pieces of business! But that is what the company tries to achieve with every computer and gadget they design, and if any of the whispers are true, this will be the must have gadget of this millennium.
Thanks to the success of the iPhone, rumour has it that the tablet will feature much of the same technology but possibly with Mac OSX built in too. So you will be able to download a plethora of applications whilst also using a wireless internet connection like a laptop. The talk is also that the whole front side will be a screen, allowing consumers to play games, watch movies, and of course use the recently patented handwriting recognition system.
It could be that Apple are planning on world domination with this device, as it seems that it may incorporate many of the Apple families finest strengths in one machine. Or maybe not! After all much of this is hearsay from Apple enthusiasts (like myself!), who one day dream of a world which is run by Apple. Such a peaceful place, with houses of brushed aluminium, pictures of Steve Jobs above the mantelpiece, clouds shaped like iPods floating past in….
anyway. The Apple Tablet. Watch this space!

Apple Stock Continues to Rise in 2009
Thanks to their growing number of hardware sales, Apple Australia can expect another more than healthy upsurge in profits. The iPhone phenomenon that swept the globe last year is beginning to calm down, with the multi function gadget being last year’s ‘must have’ item. Thanks to the ever growing number of applications, which are now in the thousands, the iPhone’s worldwide success looks likely to continue into next year and beyond, though probably not with the same number of unit sales.
But it’s not just iPhones that are having a big say in Apple’s turnover (if you’ll pardon the pun!). Sales of all things Mac, particularly their computers, are on the rise, and it’s these sales that have really pushed Apple profits through the roof. Apple’s figures have more than doubled this year and are not far from matching their all time high, once again smashing profit expectations for the second year running. The market is now so used to Apple beating Wall Street estimates, that nearly 20 city analysts are lifting price targets again!
Hudson Square Research analyst, Daniel Ernst, said -
The driver is if the iPhone keeps selling well. Mac is a huge part of the company and I think it’s going to get better next year, so while there may be some risk in the iPhone sales for the quarter, people will take some solace in that the Mac sales are pretty strong.
Apple has now beat Wall Street estimates in EVERY quarter for the past two years, with the company still managing to outperform it’s competitors even with the global credit crunch. The economic downturn was expected to cut sales of expensive products, but Apple continue to increase sales every year without having to lower prices. It’s quite obvious that when it comes to quality, consumers know what they want, and are prepared to pay for it.

Apple Australia Snow Leopard Launch – Friday 28th August 2009
Apple Australia will be launching their highly anticipated new operating system this Friday. The ‘Snow Leopard’ will feature a whole host of improvements that will have your Apple system purring with enjoyment. Mac response times have been vastly upgraded, with installations now running at twice the speed and shut down up to 80% faster.
Snow Leopard also features a quicker version of the Finder programme, plus improvements have been made to allow Exposé to be intergrated in the Dock to simplify switching between windows. QuickTime X and the new QuickTime Player are the latest generation of audio and visual applications which will allow Mac users an easy way to watch films as well as record, trim, and share media. Plus Safari 4 will be offering ultra fast web browsing at twice the speed with less crashes.
Snow Leopard will be available from this Friday and will retail at only $39 for the upgrade package for previous Leopard users. The new operating system will only work on Apple computers with Intel processors, and to upgrade from the Tiger operating system to the Snow Leopard will require the purchase of the Mac Box Set for $229, which also features the latest versions of iLife and iWork.
As I was writing this, I started to get a little hot under the collar at the thought of getting my hands on the Snow Leopard, until I realised I’m still working off a G5 Dual Mac from about 4 years ago…
time for a new computer me thinks!
