  • Lenovo Retains Lead Amidst Plunging PC Market

    The decline in PC sales continues unabated with global PC shipments falling 10 per cent in 2013 to 314.6 million units according to IDC which said manufacturers were unable to stop the trend of consumers opting for tablets and smartphones instead.

    During the October to December quarter, 82.2 million personal computers were shipped which was 5.6 per cent lower than the same time period in the previous year and marked the seventh consecutive quarterly decline.

  • Lenovo To Roll Out Refreshes Of MIIX Hybrid

    The Consumer Electronics Show this year was the perfect platform for most technology companies to show off their latest gadgets and Lenovo took the opportunity to come out swinging showing a range of devices targeted at a variety of users.

    Of particular interest was the Lenovo MIIX 2 which is a three mode laptop that is detachable and offered in both 10-inch and 11-inch models. The modes include “tablet”, “stand” and “laptop” and the device is squarely aimed at a youth market. The MIIX 2 runs on Windows 8.1 and features a detachable AccuType Keyboard. The device measures just 0.36 inches thick and the 10-inch model weighs 1.3 pounds and is powered by a 64 bit quad core Intel processor with integrated graphics.

  • Lenovo Refreshes Yoga Range Of Convertible Laptops

    Lenovo has updated its non-Pro Yoga convertible laptops and has introduced the second iterations of its 11 inch and 13 inch devices. Both devices are now powered by an Intel processor, and run Windows 8.1. The previous version of the Yoga 11 was powered by and ARM processor and ran on Windows RT. The screen resolution is a decent 1080p and the laptops run on a fourth generation Core i5 with the professional version running on a Core i7. Lenovo has gotten rid of the SSD and replaced it with a 500GB HDD, but if you prefer you can opt for a 500 GB SSHD which is a hybrid.

  • Lenovo Launches ThinkPad X1 Carbon And ThinkPad 8 At CES

    At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Lenovo showed off its third generation ThinkPad X1Carbon, which is officially the lightest 14 inch Ultrabook in the world. The Chinese PC maker also launched its 8 inch Windows 8 tablet the ThinkPad 8.

    The latest iteration of the X1 Carbon is light weighing in at just 1.27 kg. The ultrabook is made from carbon fiber which is much lighter than either aluminum and magnesium but also happens to be stronger than either of those materials. The X1 comes with what Lenovo calls and Adaptive Keyboard that adjusts dynamically to either the application or software being used, highlighting the most important keys.

  • Lenovo Reveals Flex 10 Specs

    Lenovo has been quite innovative in the convertible laptop space building a number of models including the flexible and versatile Yoga series which has four different modes of operation. In contrast the Flex series has just two modes of operations. Lenovo already makes two dual mode devices the Flex 14 and Flex 15, however if you are price conscious you will probably want to think about the Flex 10 instead.
